My first week here in Cyprus consisted of plenty of orientation activities and getting to know everyone here! We toured around the city, attended a cooking class and went on a scavenger hunt to name a few. I also immediately wanted to try a traditional Greek meal called meze, where there are many different dishes brought out to you. It was an overwhelming amount of delicious food!

Cyprus is a divided country due to a Turkish invasion in 1974. This division goes directly through the capital city Nicosia, also my home. The "north" side, controlled by the Turks, has declared themselves the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. This is recognized only by Turkey and no other countries in the world. We decided to go to the north and check it out. It is definitely a different environment!
